The Chief Administrative Officer of Kotido District local government has challenged the district councilors to take keen interest in monitoring the delivery of public services in their localities.

Emmanuel Oyuku used his address before the district council meeting last Friday to ask the district councilors and other members of the public to closely monitor the work of the civil servants employed to provide public service delivery in the district.

Oyuku asked the councilors to always demand information such as approved budgets and work plans from the civil servants especially at the Sub Counties so that they are able to follow up on approved and funded activities of the government to ensure that they are implemented.

Charles Ichogor, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kotido echoed similar concerns and urged the councilors to avoid political division based on camps and prioritise public service delivery.

The district council is tasked with the responsibilities of overseeing the provision of decentralized public services, supervising government employees, making laws for proper governance and approving budgets among others.
