Three people in Kaabong district on Thursday survived death after the ambulance they were travelling in overturned.

The ambulance Reg. No. UG8080M belonging to IK County overturned at around 7:00pm after hitting the undissolved heap of marram abandoned along Nawokosiyai-Kalongole road, forcing the driver to lose control.

Dr. Sharif Nalibe, the Kaabong District Health Officer (DHO), says the ambulance with occupants on board was en route to Kaabong after dropping a patient at Moroto Hospital.

He explains that the driver and other two occupants sustained minor injuries.

The ambulance according to Dr. Nalibe, was towed to Kaabong Police Station as investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.

He explains that the ambulance is not severely damaged but it will require minor repairs before it gets back on the road.

Dr. Nabile, says the driver and the nurse will write a report explaining the cause of the accident.

This report according to Dr. Nabile, will be submitted to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

The incident leaves Kaabong hospital to rely on the two remaining ambulances for emergency health response services.
