The Chairman of the Patriotic League Of Uganda-PLU, General David Muhoozi Kainerugaba has appointed eight prominent politicians in Karamoja to coordinate PLU activities in the region.
The eight-member committee was announced in a press release signed by PLU’s general secretary, David Kabanda, a copy of which Etoil A Karamoja, has seen.
Francis Adome Lorika the Moroto municipality MP, has been appointed coordinator for the Karamoja region, flagged by Davinia Esther Anyakun the Nakapiripirit woman MP as assistant coordinator while the Labwor county MP Jimbricky Norman Ochero, was appointed as secretary.
Paul Komol Lotee the Kotido district LCV chairperson, was named publicity secretary, Prisca Loyor as women council representative, Abdullah Lomongin PWD council representative, Sam Lokeris, as Elderly council representative and Thomas Abong, as youth council representative.
Confirming the developments to our reporter, Komol the publicity secretary described the appointment as a special gift to the people of Kotido, as he believes most of the issues affecting the region will be laid out accordingly.
Komol says they will now hold a meeting together with other leaders appointed from other regions, to see the way forward, before they embark on their mobilization journey.
According to Kabanda the eight where selected basing on the dedication and commitment to the PLU’s values and Ethos, something they believe will significantly contribute to their efforts in engaging and mobilizing people in Karamoja for transformation and economic development
