In March this year, the district released a job advertisement containing a list of vacancies available, both at the district and municipality. Some of the key positions advertised include a records officer, senior assistant officer, commercial officer, assistant district water officer among others.

Donato Oola Olam, the Kotido district chief administrative officer, in an exclusive interview with our reporters in his office on Wednesday said the district is intending to fill in the existing positions that were left behind by officers who were retired, transferred, dismissed, or died during service, as provided for in the law

Oola observed that in order to fill in most of the vacant available positions, the district will now have to wait for the ministry of public service to okay a mass recruitment process, following a halt on all recruitment plans last year.

Lomongin said the vacant positions have in a way affected service delivery and the district is sometimes forced to assign the administrative heads more than two work stations in order to cover up on the staffing gap.
