The Bishop of Kotido Catholic Diocese, the Rt. Rev Dominic Eibu has challenged Priests in the diocese to honor their ordination vows and remain active ministers of God.
Bishop Eibu challenged the ordained men of God on Wednesday during the Chrism Mass-a day the Catholic Church commemorates the priestly ordination of every ordained minister of God’s word especially the priests, bishops and deacons.
It is also the day the bishop or archbishop consecrates Holy Oils including oil for the sick, for the catechumen and Chrism meant for anointing’s at Baptism, confirmations priestly and episcopal ordinations for use in Church.
In his homily Bishop Eibu tasked the priests to play their role of serving the faithful at all times and remain steadfast as per the call by the ministry.
The bishop also called upon the faithful to love and help the ministers of God become good priests, reminding both the priests and the faithful that they are God’s gifts to each other.
Bishop Eibu further asked the faithful, priests, and the religious to follow the example of Jesus Christ, remain attached to God and be of interest to what God wants from each one of them in their different capacities.
About twenty six priests from the ten parishes of Kotido Catholic diocese participated in the Holly Mass held at Good Shepherd Cathedral Kotido.
