The Kotido army primary school head teacher warrant officer class two, Simon Tito Elanyu has been suspended from office over allegations of school mismanagement.
This follows reported incidences of some teachers from the school who allegedly sexually assaulted school pupils under his watch, something that has since led to public uproar.
The latest incident involved a primary seven class teacher Simon Maluda who was on the 30th of April remanded to Kotido government prison over accusations of defiling a 17-year-old primary seven pupil of the same school.
Maj Isaac Oware the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson, says following several reports from the school regarding similar incidences, the UPDF 3rd division leadership decided to take drastic measures by among others suspend the school head teacher.
He says the head teacher is implicated for his failure to stop or prevent such acts against the unsuspecting pupils, further Noting that the management has tentatively installed warrant officer class two Joseph Iluko as head teacher, as they carry out further investigations into the matter
Oware says the school management committee, headed by the 405 brigade will now convene a meeting to establish facts surrounding the allegations, before they can come up with the final recommendations in regard to the issue.
Paul Komol Lotee the Kotido district LCV Chairperson, in an interview with Etoil A Karamoja said as a district, they will accord the UPDF 3RD division authorities the necessary assistance on the matter, further calling for calm from the public
