The head teacher of Kotido army primary school warrant officer class two Simon Tito Elanyu who was suspended from office over allegations of mismanagement has been reinstated.
Last month, Mr Elanyu was suspended from duty by the UPDF 3rd division leadership over alleged incidences of sexual assault of school pupils perpetuated by some of his teachers under his watch enraging the public.
In April this year, the Kotido chief magistrates court remanded Simon Maluda a primary seven class teacher of the same school to Kotido government prison over accusations of defiling his 17-year-old primary seven pupil.
Maj Isaac Oware the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson, in an earlier interview with Etoil A Karamoja said the head teacher was implicated for his failure to stop or prevent such acts against the unsuspecting pupils.
However, in an interview with our reporter on Tuesday, Maj. Oware disclosed that following a joint meeting involving SMC, PTA and UPDF officials on Friday May 31, 2024 at the school premise it was resolved that Mr Elanyu resumes his duties.
According to Maj. Oware the Joint meeting found out that the allegations against the school administration were baseless and had conflict of interest.
Maj. Oware said the joint meeting has now implored the head teacher to focus on the development of the school and continue working smoothly and cooperate with other stakeholders to further improve the performance of the school.
