Residents of Kapeta sub county in Kotido district have offered 20 acres of land to Losakuca primary school to help in food production.
The land which is located in Nasiriamamoru village Kapeta sub county was given to the school after several meetings facilitated by the school were held in the school premises.
The new development will now enable the school plant and harvest enough food for the learners.
Paul Ilukol the chairperson school management committee said this is an opportunity for the school to develop.
He believes that once the rains commence the community members will themselves prepare the gardens, plant and harvest the crops
He now asks the local leaders and the community to co-operate with the school administration for its smooth running.
Anna Nyakori a parent from Losakuca rallied community members to cooperate when time for clearing the land comes for the benefit of the learners.
Susan Akot the head teacher Losakuca primary school thanked the community for accepting to donate that portion of land to the school further urging them to work hand in hand with the school for the betterment of the school and learners.
Meanwhile the school is struggling to accommodate its learners due to lack of boarding facilities.
Currently, the school has 112 learners in the boarding section who are forced to use the same classrooms they study in as dormitories.
