The beneficiaries of the recently distributed iron sheets in Kapeeta sub county, Kotido district have accused their area LC3 chairperson and the acting sub county chief of allegedly withdrawing some iron sheet from them.
They purport that their chairman Simon Peter Lokonyen and the sub county chief Christine Nameja withdrew between five to ten iron sheets from some of them shortly after the distribution exercise
Two of the beneficiaries; Peter Lodia and Robert Loden have since lodged complaints at the Kotido central police station under the SD references numbers 42/20/2/2024 and 45/20/2/2024.
The duo claims that after receiving 26 pieces of iron sheets from the OPM on the 14th of February the two leaders later returned and withdrew iron sheets from them claiming that they fought for their names to be included in the beneficiaries list.
According to Loden, Mr Lokonyen withdrew 5 iron sheets from him while Lodia claims Nameja withdrew 10 iron sheets from him.
Isiah Lokech the Kapeeta sub county LCV councilor told our reporter that he has so far received about 7 similar complaints from the beneficiaries in five parishes.
Robert Kachuma the DPC Kotido confirmed to our reporter that the case was registered adding that investigations into matter had commenced.
