There was joy on Saturday as leaners in Kotido who scoop first grades in 2023 PLE exams received mattresses courtesy of Hon. Margaret Aleper Achilla, the Kotido woman member of parliament.
The learners drawn from the different schools across the district, were each awarded with one mattress as they plan to report to senior one, for first term.
Aleper who started the initiative last year says her aim is to help all the learners who sat for PLE in the year of 2023 and passed in division one from all the sub counties and divisions in Kotido district.
During the distribution of the items Hon. Aleper encouraged the learners to continue with the same spirit in their education, further warning learners against bad peers as they join secondary.
Aleper further tasked parents to provide all the necessary requirements needed for the smooth learning for their children
Hon. Sabina Kapel the female councilor representing Loletio and Panyangara sub counties who was in attendance expressed her joy for the contribution of Hon. Aleper, asking the beneficiaries to report to school as required.
Peter Lonyia Jupitex the LCIII of Kotido west division, and a previous beneficiary warned the pupils against drinking while in school, in order to have smooth learning.
Scovia Adon from North division and Abraham Lopio from Nakwakwa all leaners who scored first grade thanked Hon. Aleper for the generous support rendered to them.
