The force is currently carrying out a countrywide recruitment drive for 10,000 police constables, an exercise that started on the 11th of March and scheduled to end this Friday 21st March 2025

However, Calisto Longole, the Kotido District Police Community Liaison Officer says that despite the huge number advertised by the force, only 23 applicants had expressed interest in joining the police service by Tuesday.

Longole, who is overseeing the recruitment exercise in Kotido attributes the poor turn up to negative attitude, especially by the natives to the police jobs.

Longole urges the communities to rethink their stance to be able to benefit from one of the government call to addressing unemployment in the country.
