The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has official set Thursday, September 18 2025, as the election day for the National Executives of the Youth and Entrepreneurs Leagues and flag bearers for Members of Parliament representing youth.
In a letter dated September 13, 2025, addressed to the youth delegates, which Etoil A Karamoja has obtained a copy, Richard Todwong, the NRM party Secretary General said that the decision was reached at during the 5th Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held at State Houses Entebbe on Saturday.
According to Todwong, the elections will take place across all 151 NRM districts starting at 9:am and voting is by lining as directed by the party’s national chairman President Museveni, who chaired the meeting.
“These elections were deferred at the recently held National Special Interest Groups Conference and have been decentralized to the districts. This makes them quite unique from the norm and sensitive,” said Todwong.

He added that the Party Secretariat would provide logistical support, including allowances for delegates, with details to be outlined in a circular from the National Treasurer.
The NRM Electoral Commission and the Directorate of Legal Services will issue guidelines to ensure the elections adhere to CEC directives and the Elections Tribunal’s regulations.
Among the eligible delegates are NRM Members of Parliament representing youth, members of the NRM District Executive Committees, five representatives per district from the Youth and Entrepreneurs Leagues, five members per municipality/city division from the Youth League.
Others are the sitting NRM Youth Councilors at municipal and district levels, NRM Sub-County Youth League Chairpersons, and 10 members each from the National Executive Committees of the Youth and Entrepreneurs’ Leagues.
Todwong urged the party leaders at the district level to ensure maximum orderliness and discipline.
He also cautioned the aspiring candidates against engaging in acts that could disgrace the electoral process, stating that they had enough time to campaign.
