The Karamoja Zone has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association’s (USSSA) Ball Games II Championship.
The event is scheduled to be hosted by Sacred Heart School in Gulu City will run from 8th July to 18th July, 2026.
The Karamoja Zone held its regional competition at Abim Secondary School from June 28-30, 2026, with only two districts, Abim and Moroto, participating.
Stephen Ngama, the General Secretary of the Karamoja Zonal Secondary Schools Sports Association, told this publication that the region would be represented at the national USSSA Ball Games II by Moroto High School.
Moroto High School won the volleyball and netball championships in both girls’ and boys’ categories, while Abim Secondary School, the host of this years district USSSA Ball Games II won atheletics category.
According to Ngama, the region will only compete in volleyball and netball because Abim District, which won in athletics, has not yet confirmed its participation.
Both the volleyball and netball teams from Moroto High School underwent athlete screening on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the USSSA head office, GNL Plaza, in Kampala.
