Three children in Napak District have died in a house fire after their father set them ablaze.

The deceased have been identified as Janet Nadoli aged 10, Emmanuel Lokong 3yrs, and Joan Nakodio (1 year and 3 months).

Mike Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, in a statement issued on Wednesday said Michael Otyang, a resident of Lokeru village in Lolet Parish, Lorengecora Sub-county, allegedly locked his children inside their grass-thatched house and set them on fire on Tuesday, night at around 11:00 p.m.

He said that preliminary investigations reveal that the act reportedly occurred after a disagreement with his wife over feeding.

Longole said Otyang fled the scene after setting the children on fire.

He said the homicide and detective officers visited and documented the crime scene.

According to Longole, police have launched a manhunt for Otyang, urging the public to volunteer information about his whereabouts to the police as investigations continue.
