This follows reports that the district registered slightly a low turn of people for the yellow fever vaccination exercise against its target.

Early this month, ministry of health launched the second phase of the comprehensive yellow fever preventive mass vaccination campaign, signaling their effort to protect the population against the threat of Yellow Fever.

Running from April 2nd to April 8th, 2024, this initiative aimed to immunize a significant portion of the population, with a target of 14 million individuals across 53 districts, including key regions such as Karamoja, Teso, Ankole, Masaka, and Kampala.

However, in an exclusive interview with our reporters in his office, Onoria explained that only 70 percent of the target group in district was vaccinated against yellow fever.

According to Onoria, those who refused to take the yellow fever jab will not be allowed to benefit from government incentives and program as he attempts to encourage the populace to take the jab.
