The Kotido Resident District Commissioner, Charles Ichogor has called on the Karimojong reformed warriors to embrace and consolidate peace for sustainable development in the region.
Ichogor made the remarks in Moroto while meeting with the Karachuna who surrendered the guns to the security teams across Karamoja.
He said that the government designed various programs to empower the Karachuna and develop Karamoja sub- region for the good of all the citizens in the country.
Ahmed Madiri, the Regional Police Commander for Mt. Moroto says that there are many opportunities for the Karachuna who have chosen peace over violence to benefit from.
He said that some of the opportunities may include an affirmative action on education requirements to enable the Karachuna to join the forces in the near future.
