Rev. Fr. Gabriel Omenya, the Priest of Kotido Catholic Diocese has urged Christians to exhibit generosity and faithfulness during this lent period.
Fr. Omenya reminded Christians to analyze the meaning of the Lenten season, noting that it comes with blessings if love is extended to the needy by sharing whatever little resources.
He also noted that the lent season remains one of the great and timely opportunities for the Christians to reflect, repent and recommit to the path of faithful stewardship.
He made the remark during his homily on Wednesday at Kotido Good Shepherd Cathedral.
Fr. Omenya noted that the role of a steward goes beyond servanthood to trustworthiness, faithfulness, obedience, loyalty and respectfulness to the master who has entrusted much to our care.
The prelate added that the Christian virtues are not just arbitrary standards set by society but are deeply rooted in the belief that we are ultimately accountable to God on how we manage what we have been given.
The Catholic Church celebrated the solemnity of St. Joseph the husband of Mary yesterday, Wednesday March 19, 2025.
