Kangole Girls Secondary School and Arengesiep Seed SS have been ranked 54th and 60th, respectively, in the recently concluded National Secondary School Ball Games 1 Championship held in Ngora and Bukedea between May 5 and 14, 2025 .

The final rankings were released by Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association organizing committee after the schools that were eliminated in the group stages played classification games.

Kangole Girls’ Secondary School and Arengesiep Secondary School represented Karamoja region at the national level after being crowned champions at the regional level.

However, their journey in the hotly contested competition was cut short after they were eliminated in the group stages.

Buddo Secondary School and St. Noa Girls Zana were crowned overall champions of this year’s National Secondary School Ball Games 2025 Championship in boys and girls category respectively after penalty shootout.

St. Noa Girls Zana defeated Amus College 5-4 in a heartbreaking penalty shootout, while Buddo Secondary School emerged victorious over St. Mary’s Kitende with a score of 6-5 in a penalty shootout to clinch the prestigious USSSA title after playing out a goalless draw.

St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende

Bronze

Bukedea Comprehensive School.

The three schools will represent Uganda at the Federation of East Africa Schools Championship in Kakamega later this year along side defending champion Amus College School.

Mukisa Owen (Buddo SS) – Most Valuable Player.

Obale Rogers (St. Mary’s Kitende) – Best goal keeper

Tumwine Mubarak (Masaka SS) – Top scorer

Steven Ngama, the General Secretary of the Karamoja Regional Secondary Schools Sports Association, commended both schools for their impressive performance at the national championships

Ngama stated that such performance will help the region maintain its slots at the national competition in next year’s championships.
