The Bishop of Kotido Catholic Diocese His Lordship Dominic Eibu, has urged Ugandans to become bearers of hope throughout the Christmas season and the forthcoming elections.
He made the call while leading the Parliament’s Catholic Community End-of-Year Mass and Christmas Tree Lighting as the country approaches Christmas season.
The event held in the parliament’s conference hall on Tuesday December 9, 2025, was attended by members of Parliament government officials, and other dignitaries, who came together to celebrate the spirt of Christmas.
The event saw choirs perform melodious hymns that resonated deeply with attendees, reflecting the joy and solemnity of the season.

In his homily, Bishop Eibu challenged Ugandans to promote hope during Christmas season even as the country grapples with both economic and political issues.
He emphasised that hope is not passive wishful thinking, but a confident trust in God that should inspire tangible actions of love, justice, and service in a world often marked by suffering and despair.
The prelate also encouraged the faithful to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas in their daily lives, noting that the season invites both spiritual renewal and practical preparation.
