Cases of election violence have reportedly risen in Rengen Sub-County, Kotido District following the ongoing nationwide NRM party elections.

Reports from the sub county authorities indicate that at least seven cases have been reported in less than one month.

Elijah Lobur, the Rengen LC3 Chairperson says that among the several incidents reported, two cases involving Apei Longuto who was paralyzed after being beaten by his son-in-law, and another of Lowurong, one of the survivors who suffered a head injury in an election-related brawl, have been more disturbing.

Lobur is calling for collective action to prevent election violence.
