Residents of Kotido district have outlined key priorities they want president Museveni to address in his next term of office if he wins the 2026 elections.
Among the priorities is construction of at least three dams to provide water for production and cattle, upgrade health centre IIs to health centre III status and release innocent men who were arrested by the security forces during forceful disarmament.
Speaking to our report, the residents urged Museveni to fulfil outstanding pledge of tarmacking Amuria- Abim- Kotido Road, Kotido–Moroto Road and Kotido – Kaabong- Karenga Roads in order to improve transport and service delivery.
Their sentiments come at a time the district leaders is set to host Museveni on October, 27, for his presidential campaign.
Cecilia Dodoi, the Female Councillor of Maaru Sub County is appealing president Museveni to order an expeditious screening of Karamojong men imprisoned by security forces on charges of illegal possession of firearms, cattle rustling and other related charges, and pardon those with minor crimes and reunite them with their families.
Andrew Teko Nakoucwit, LC3 NRM flag bearer aspirant for West Division said government should prioritize dam construction to provide water for crop production and cattle.
