The NRM District Executive Committee (DEC) of Kotido has assumed office without the blessing of their predecessors.
The new team, led by Dr. Paul Lochap, took over office on Monday June 16, 2023, in a ceremony witnessed by the Kotido RDC, Charles Ichogor, at his office.
The Kotido new NRM leadership comprises the party’s vice chairperson, Josephine Irwata, the General Secretary, Charles Emuge, Publicity Secretary Ananias Aroni, and Finance Secretary Emmanuel Keem.
This is the first time in 15 years that the party has seen new leadership coming on board since Peter Abrahams Lokii was elected in 2011.
Speaking about his immediate tasks, Dr. Lochap said his team would strengthen grassroots mobilization, oversee internal democracy, and improve the working conditions in the NRM Kotido office.
The outgoing District NRM Chairman, Peter Abrahams Lokii, who also serves as the Jie County MP, has not commented despite our repeated attempts to obtain a comment from him by phone.
However, Francis Longole, the Kotido NRM Administrative Secretary, confirmed the handover, saying the new office bearers have received the instruments of power.
