Kotido District Local Government is chocking in debts accruing from different unpaid services and commitments with service providers.

According to the Chief Administrative Officer, Donato Oola, the service providers, whose details he didn’t divulge are demanding the district monies for the services offered as far as 2020/2021 FY.

He said that the service providers have since sought legal redress on the matter.

Oola added that the district has been struggling to offset debts from a list of service providers to the extent that education department could not undertake a single development project in the current FY 2024/2025.

He disclosed that the district needs additional 103 million to clear off the contractors whose services were not paid way back in the FY 2020/2021, and another 120 million is needed to pay the money borrowed from UGIFT Project to construct Rengen Seed Secondary School.
