The bishop of Kotido catholic diocese, the Rt. Rev Dominic Eibu Lokut has reshuffled priests, reassigning others to different new positions. The changes that take effect from the 4th of February primarily affect nine parish priests and assistants across the diocese.
This is Bishop Eibu’s first major reshuffle since his consecration and enthronement as bishop of Kotido diocese in January last year.
According to the transfer list, Rev. Fr Daniel Nabuya, previously the parish priest of Abim parish has been appointed the new vicar general Kotido diocese replacing Monsignor Philip Lokel who was appointed a lecturer at the National Major seminary Ggaba.
Rev. Fr. Samuel Lotuk has been moved from the good shepherd cathedral to Losilang parish, Rev. Fr, Joseph Lokiding has been moved from Losilang to the newly created Kokoria parish as a parish priest while Rev Fr. Charles Adei has been moved from Kapedo to Losilang as assistant.
In other transfers Rev. Fr. Deograciuos Bagonza has been moved from Kapedo to Abim as assistant, Fr. Peter Lokiru from Abim to Kapedo as a parish priest, Fr. John Bosco Lowany Etapar from Kaabong parish to the new Kalapata parish.
Rev. Fr. Fredrick Wanjala who has been at the Catholic university of east Africa will now take up a new role as a parish priest at Abim parish while Fr. John Bosco Kutagana has received a new role as the education coordinator for Kaabong district.
Bishop Eibu also deployed the newly ordained priests appointing Fr. Emmanuel Lokiru as assistant parish priest Kapedo while Fr. Simon Peter Losire moves to Morulem parish as assistant.
Monsignor Daniel Daniel Nabuya the vicar general of Kotido diocese confirmed the changes to our reporter further appealing to the Christians to welcome and work together with the new priests.
He also encouraged the priests to accept the transfers and to be ready for anything as Christ has commanded them.
