The Karamoja Regional Secondary Schools Ball Games II championship competitions have kicked off in Amudat district.

The two-day event which commenced this morning at Pokot SS in Amudat district has attracted ten schools from five districts in the region.

The participating schools include; Pokot SS, Pokot girls, Loro Seed School, Moroto high School, Nadunget SS, and St Kizito Lorengdwat SS Nabilatuk. The others schools are Kotido SS, Lotuke seed SS, Morulem Girls SS and Abim SS.

The schools will be competing in different disciplines including athletics, volley ball, among others. The schools that qualify will represent the region at the national competition scheduled for 7th of July 2024 at Teso college Aloet.

Alfred Chemonges the Amudat district sports officer asked the participants to be disciplined and compete with civility. He assured participants of their commitment to ensuring that all the events run as scheduled.

Alfred Logwe the principal assistant secretary who represented the Chief Administrative Oficer-CAO Amudat urged the participants to compete with honor and fairness and respect their opponents.

He also thanked the community for embracing the event saying their support not only boosts their confidence but highlights the importance of communities in fostering young talent.

George Owanyi the Amudat resident district commissioner who graced the event as chief guest thanked the students for embracing sports saying government recognizes their potential.
