The Jie County MP, Peter Abrahams Lokii and the Kotido Municipality Mayor, Peter Abraham Irar have lost their bid to participate in the NRM party higher elections after losing sub-county and division elections respectively.
The MP who has been serving as the Kotido District NRM Chairman lost to Josephine Irwat in Lokitelaebu Town Council with two votes after garnering 20 votes.
He had contested as a General Secretary in the Lokitelaebu Town Council NRM mainstream.
In South Division, the Mayor was trounced by Isaac Locham Ariboy after getting 62 votes against the 91 garnered by the victor.
The mayor had contested for the position of the secretary for publicity, NRM Mainstream.
The result declaration forms signed by the Lokitelaebu Town Council Registrar, William Locheng Apanapus indicates that the MP polled 20 votes while his opponent got 22 votes.
In South Division, Paul Lokoth, the NRM Division Registrar declared Isaac Locahm Ariboy winner having polled 91 votes against the 62 garnered by the Kotido Municipality Mayor for the position of NRM Secretary Publicity.
This means that the two leaders can no longer participate in the municipal and district NRM elections due on May 19 and 23, respectively.
They join their Kotido Municipality MP, Ismael Muhammad Lomwar who unsuccessfully vied for Lodipidip Cell NRM Vice Chairperson on May 6, 2025.
However, their counterpart, the Kotido Woman MP, Margaret Aleper was elected unopposed for the position of Secretary Finance for Women’s League.
Paul Lotee Komol, the Kotido district LCV Chairperson was elected secretary publicity NRM mainstream for Kacheri Town Council.
