Police in Amudat district are holding fifteen workers of Alder Construction Company Ltd. for allegedly stealing construction materials from the Loroo Seed Secondary School construction site.
The suspects reportedly broke into the school’s stores on Saturday night and stole unspecified number of paint tins and a generator valued at Shs9 million.
Mike Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, said in a press statement that police acted on intelligence information to arrest the suspects.
He said that the suspects are currently detained at Loroo Police station as investigations into the matter continue.
In a separate incident, Longole stated that the police are also investigating the murder of a 35-year-old man in Nakapiripirit District.
According to Longole, the deceased, identified as Paul Loduk Lokus, a resident of Nabwalangor east village, was murdered on Saturday in a domestic brawl.
He added that police visited the scene, obtained statements from eyewitnesses, and carried out an autopsy.
Longole urged the public to cooperate with the police in the ongoing investigations.
