The Bishops from North Karamoja have challenged the Christians to use Easter season to renew their faith, forgive those who have hurt them and embrace each other.
They made the statement on Good Friday as they led hundreds of Christians from Kotido in celebrating the joint ecumenical procession.
The Way of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers.
In Kotido, Christians from the Anglican and Catholic faith braced the morning sun to walk 4km to observe the ecumenical public way of the cross.

The two bishops asked the faithful to remain united as they reflect on the passion and death of Jesus Christ.
In his message titled “forgive us our trespasses and graciously grant us peace”, Rt. Rev. Fr. Dominic Eibu, the Bishop of Kotido Diocese urged for responsibility, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence among the Christians.
He said it dreadful to hear that a brother does not talk to his biological brother because of the disagreement they could have had, yet the Bible puts emphasises on forgiving those who wrong us.
Bishop Eibu noted that the Lord’s Prayer seeks for forgiveness for human failings as a result of greed, pride, superiority, laziness and tribalism.
He condemned those who trespass on into other people’s homes and properties as this disrupts peace and development, urging communities to watch over one another.
Meanwhile, the Bishop of North Karamoja Diocese Rt. Rev. Simon Aisu Akol, encouraged Christians to use Easter to renew their trust and faith in the Lord in order to inherit God’s Kingdom.
He said the Christians embrace peace with their families and neighbours and remain hopeful in the face of life hardships and trust in the God’s will.
