Bishop James Nasak in Adea parish Abim district

The outgoing Bishop of North Karamoja Church of Uganda diocese Rt. Rev James Nasak has commissioned four lay readers and ordained three deacons to priesthood as he concludes his retirement tour in Abim district.

The ordination and commissioning which took place on Sunday in Adea Archdeaconry, Abim district was attended by the clergy from different Archdeaconries of Abim and the diocesan secretary.

Those who were ordained priests include Deacon Charles Odeke, Deacon John Walter Aboo and Deacon Isaac Okello meanwhile the commissioned lay readers include Okerede Kokas, Charles Ejoku, Ebiru Julius and Moses Eweou. The four lay readers will serve in Lotuke and Adea Archdeaconries.

The candidates were first examined by the archdeacon of Lotukei Archdeaconry, Venerable Reverend Canon Nelson Owilli before presenting them to the bishop for ordination and commissioning.

Bishop Nasak in his message asked the congregation the support the new clergy but also cautioned the newly ordained and commissioned clergy against working in isolation.

Bishop Nasak is expected to retire and handover office to the archbishop on 27th December 2022.
