Police in Amudat District have launched investigations into suspected murder of an unidentified businessman, whose body was found in Loburin Village.

The body was discovered on Saturday at around 8:30 a.m. along a footpath leading to Jumbe Village in Tingas Parish, Amudat Town Council, by women who were collecting firewood near Kanyangareng River.

In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, 2026, Mt. Moroto Regional Police/ASTU Spokesperson Michael Longole, said that a bottle of Express waragi was found beside the body.

According to Longole, police homicide detectives, Scene of Crime Officers, Criminal Investigations officers and a canine unit visited the scene, however, the dog couldn’t pick up any scent because the scene had already been tampered with.

The body was taken to Amudat Hospital mortuary after police processed the scene and recorded statements from residents.

Longole said preliminary findings indicate that the deceased had been drinking at a local joint before heading to undisclosed place where he intended to spend the night ahead of the cattle market day.

He called on individuals with missing person to report to police so as to help identify the deceased.
