Market Boys Football Team, the defending champions of the 2025 Kotido Uhuru Cup, have secured their place in the final of this year’s tournament after a convincing 5–0 victory over Kotido Police Football Team.

The semi-final was played on Monday, October 5, 2026, at a fully packed Kotido Boma Ground, where Market Boys put up a dominant performance to maintain their unbeaten run in the competition.

Market Boys took control of the match early, creating several scoring opportunities and putting pressure on the Police defence.

Papato Loila and Jamal Tookura each found the back of the net, while Adama was the star of the match after scoring a hat-trick to complete the emphatic 5–0 victory.

The result means Market Boys will now return to the final for the second consecutive year as they seek to defend the title they won in 2025.

Speaking after the match, Market Boys team captain Carlos Mugisha commended his teammates for their hard work, determination and teamwork, which he said had enabled the club to reach the final once again.

Mugisha also praised the Kotido Police players for displaying discipline and sportsmanship throughout the match, despite the team losing its captain, Fred Owach-Gui, who was sent off in the final minutes of the second half.
