The Kotido Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Donato Oola says the long-awaited new council block will be virtually ready in a month’s time.

Oola said that the construction of the new district administrative block is now at the fifth phase after delayed works.

The construction of the offices commenced in 2015 but stalled due to the lack of funds.

During the consecration of North Karamoja Diocesan Bishop in 2023, Kotido officials raised their plea before the deputy speaker of parliament, Thomas Tayebwa to lobby for the bail out of 500 million shillings to complete council hall.

Most of the buildings hosting district offices are in a state of disrepair, characterized by cracked walls, peeling ceilings, failing doors, and faded paint.

Oola told Etoil A Karamoja in an interview at his office on Tuesday May 20, 2025, that the district has been allocated additional Shs750 million in the next financial year for the sixth phase construction of the administrative block.

The new administrative block is designed to house modern council chambers and offices for technical staff, promising improved working conditions and enhanced service delivery for the district.
