Kotido District has released its roadmap for the upcoming primary school ball games, serving as qualifiers for the Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association (UPSSA) National Championship scheduled to take place in Yumbe District from June 17th to 25th, 2025.
Paul Lokong, the General Secretary of the Kotido District Sports Association, confirmed the development to Radio Etoil A Karamoja.
He stated that the organizing committee held a planning meeting on June 20th, 2025, and subsequently finalized the roadmap.
According to Lokong, the training for games and sports teachers on the rules of the games will commence on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at Kotido Mixed Primary School.
The training of athletes at the school level and online registration of athletes are also slated to be completed within June.
Lokong added that inter-class competitions, zonal competitions, and the district championship are all scheduled to be held between July 20th, 2025, and August 15th, 2025.
Regarding participation fees, Lokong revealed that each government primary school in the district is required to pay a registration fee of UGX 300,000, while community schools will pay Shs50, 000.
This year’s UPSSA ball games will feature three sporting disciplines: football (boys, with 20 players per team), netball (girls, with 14 players per team), and volleyball (boys and girls, with 14 players per team).
