Police in Kidepo Regional have outlined measures to guarantee peaceful ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) party grassroots elections.
These measures include analyzing crime trends, strengthening community policing, and implementing the sub-county policing model to enhance collaboration.
Denis Ocama, the Kidepo Regional Police Commander, announced these measures during a security meeting on election security held at Kotido Central Police Station.
The meeting followed instances of violence registered in the ongoing NRM party grassroots elections across the region.
Ocama emphasized the need for police officers to uphold police core values and align with national police directives.
He also stated that police are implementing community policing initiatives to build trust and gather intelligence, aiming to prevent future security threats.
The Kaabong RDC, Stephen Latek, welcomed these preparations, highlighting the collaborative effort to ensure a secure election environment.
