The former Woman MP for Abim district Juliana Modest Auma, has been appointed a commissioner in the Electoral Commission of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The appointment announced last week comes barely a month to the NRM party primaries scheduled to commence in April 2025 with the expression of interest and picking of nomination forms for Local Government Councils.

Auma lost her seat to Janet Grace Akech Okori Moe with a difference of 97 votes in 2021 elections after garnering 7,608 votes.

In the 2021 general elections, Auma challenged the NRM flag bearer after losing in the party primaries.

When asked whether she will consider returning to the ballot in the forthcoming elections, Auma said it was premature to discuss the topic since she had not yet been furnished with the details of the new appointment.
