Senior Quarters Cricket Club produced a spectacular performance of the ages to win the 2025, Soroti Cricket Academy (SCA) Ladies crown after edging defending Champions Campswahili Cricket Club by 11 runs in a thrilling finals played at Madera Cricket Oval on Sunday.

The victory achieved in front of jubilant crowd came after Senior Quarters suffered early setbacks before Esther Iloku’s composed 52 runs anchored them to a fighting total of 98 runs for nine.

Campswahili’s efforts to steadily chase Senior Quarters were dealt a blow after their wickets tumbled at crucial moments. Naume Amongin’s resilient 34 wickets run-out turned the tide.

With every delivery in the dying overs thick with tension, Campswahili were dismissed for 87, sparking jubilant celebrations for Senior Quarters.

Senior Quarters’ title run reflected remarkable consistency of five wins from six matches, amassing 10 points.

They opened the season with a five-wicket win over Nakatunya, followed by a 68-run victory against Pamba.

Their only setback came in a narrow two-wicket loss to Campswahili in the first round.

The second leg, however, was all redemption, beating Nakatunya by six wickets, Pamba by 36 runs, and sealing the title with a decisive 11-run triumph over Campswahili.

Atthe City Oval, half-centuries from Proscovia Alako (52) and Josephine Icumar (58) powered Nakatunya to 182 all out, defeating Pamba by 121 runs to finish third on four points.

Soroti Cricket Academy (SCA) founder and chairman Felix Musana praised the league’s impact, commending players for their resilience and growth.

He said that the competition gives girls valuable playing time and nurtures new leaders.

Among the outstanding performers are Sara Tino (Campswahili), Malisa Ariokot (Senior Quarters), Lucky Agwang (Pamba), and Josephine Icumar (Nakatunya)

National stars like Janet Mbabazi, Phiona Kulume, Kevin Amuge, Sarah Akitenge and Proscovia Alako also inspired emerging players through mentorship.

The competition also created community opportunities from local vendors to umpires.

Individual Award Winners.

Josephine Icumar from Nakatunya, who finished as the tournament’s top runner with 158 runs was named the best batter.

Keren Agudo ( Nakatunya) emerged the best bowler with 11 wickets while Christine Anayo from Senior Quarters won player of the series after collecting 623 points.
