Teachers at Kanawat primary school are living in fear after unknown gunmen attacked the staff quarters on Thursday morning smashing windows in the process.
The gunmen believed to be three in number stormed the school at around 12:00AM and attempted to force their way in to one of the staff houses.
The latest incident comes as government institutions especially schools and health facilities across the district have found themselves repeatedly being targeted by armed assailants who have stolen as well as destroyed property.
Last month unknown gunmen attacked Kalosarich P/S and Napumpum health centre III stealing several items. Last year unknown gunmen also attacked Lokoorok P/S and health center II.
Ben Mathias Mulumba Okwir the deputy head teacher Kanawat primary school while speaking to our reporter asked communities to instead appreciate their services.
Denis Ilukol another teacher told our reporter that the criminals first attacked him before proceeding to Mulumbas house where they attempted to steal chicken.
Rose Akello Nakoli, James Dodoi Apakube and Phillip Muria some of the area residents want government to deploy security personnel at the school.
