The Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda has written to the Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) who are seeking political positions in the forthcoming general elections for guidance.
The RDCs with intentions of quitting their jobs for politics in the 2025/2026 general election have been invited for the meeting in Kampala on Thursday.
The letter written on Thursday last week indicates that the minister will guide the 2026 political aspirants on the risks of resigning for politics.

Early this year, Babalanda warned that any RDC who resigns for politics in 2025 won’t be reappointed in case things don’t work out in 2026.
According to Balabanda, several RDCs have reportedly expressed interest in various position in the forthcoming elections, something she notes always affect the RDC Secretariat.
While in a meeting with RDCs in February, Babalanda mentioned Peter Pex Paak, the Soroti RCC as one of those with intentions of joining politics in 2025 in Kaabong district.
Recently, the Nakapiripirit RDC, George Owanyi rescinded his intentions to challenge Kasilo MP for the third time.
