With the powers bestowed upon him under Articles 99 and 203 of the 1995 Constitution of Uganda (as amended), President Museveni, has reshuffled over 25 RDCs and RCCs, days after the NRM primary elections for parliamentary and lower local council flag bearers.
The reshuffle was confirmed by the Secretary Office of the President, Hajji Yunus Kakande, saying that close to 40 Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs) have been transferred.
According to the latest shake-up Kyeyune Ssenyonjo the RDC Nabilatuk district has been transferred to Butebo District in Bukedi sub-region.
Among other notable transfers, are Asuman Nasike, the RCC Mbale City, who has been reassigned to Fort Portal City replacing Bayole Stanley, who has been moved to Mbale District as the RDC.
In Kampala, significant changes include the appointment of Kagenyi Lukka, previously Deputy RDC for Manafwa, as the new Deputy RCC for Kawempe Division.
Wopuwa George William formerly the RDC Mbale District has been moved to Mbale City as RCC, while RDC Mubende Hajji Umar Lule Mawiya takes over from Jane Asiimwe Muhindo, the former RCC Kampala, who has been transferred to Sheema district.
Others affected include the Kawempe Division deputy RCC, Hajji Nuur Njuki, who has been moved to Kanungu district has deputy RDC, while deputy RDC Mukono, Hassan Kasinbate, has been transferred to Jinja on the same role.
Additionally, Kitambula Henry, previously Deputy RCC for Rubaga, has been transferred to Fort Portal City as Deputy RCC for Central Division, while Moses Ariho moves from Fort Portal’s Central Division to Rubaga as Deputy RCC.
Maj. Saleh Kamba, who transitions from RDC for Kabarole to RDC for Manafwa, replacing Wibule Patience Edith, now RDC for Maracha.
In a swap of roles, Juliet Solome Namara, RDC for Namisindwa, moves to Bududa, while Elijah Madoi shifts from Bududa to Namisindwa as RDC.
Godfrey Nyakahuma, the RDC Kabale has been shifted to Kaberamaido and will be replaced by Maj. Rtd. Godfrey Even Katamba, the former RDC Katakwi, who has been on suspension.
Rukungiri RDC, Stephen Nsubuga Bewayo replaces Rubirizi RDC Bron Kikanshemeza, who has been transferred to Rukingir district.
According to Hajji Yunus Kakande, the Secretary Office of the President, the transfers which take effect immediately, were not connected to the recent NRM primaries, where some RDCs were accused taking sides.
