A total of 1,078 applicants for the various position advertised by Kotido District Local Government missed out on the shortlist after failing to certify their academic credentials.
In the shortlist released by the Kotido District Service Commission (DSC) recently, only 1,093 out of 2,171 people who applied for the 87 jobs managed to pass through the first stage of screening at the district.
The positions were advertised in January with aims of filling the human resource gaps in the hospital, lower administrative units, and Kotido municipality.
Paul Darlington Lomanio, the Kotido DSC Chairperson says that most of the applicants certified their university documents, leaving out their UCE and UACE results, which were also required.
However, the district failed to attract candidates in the positions of Public Health Nurse and the Assistant Law Enforcement Officer.
Lomania says the positions required higher qualifications against low scale offered by the government.
For instance, he said that the position of the Assistant Law Enforcement Officer required Diploma in Law in addition to other qualifications and yet the salary scale was for the certificate holders.
