The Moroto Woman Member of Parliament, Stella Atyang, has retained the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag after emerging victorious in the party’s primary elections, which attracted six candidates.
Atyang garnered 15,428 votes representing 53 percent of the total vote cast defeating her closest challenger Lucy Apio, who secured 6,732 votes (23 percent).
Jennifer Aleper emerged third with 5,251 votes representing 18 percent while Dinah Lorika Adupa managed to poll 876 votes (3 percent).
Bonisca Apuun finished in fourth position after garnering 645 votes representing 2.1 percent while Betty Amunyang trailed from behind with 416 votes, representing 1.4 percent of the total vote cast.
In Moroto Municipality, the incumbent Member of Parliament Francis Adome was declared a winner by the NRM Electoral Commission Returning Officer Moroto district Yusuf Lomokol, after polling 2,129 votes representing 57 percent.
According to the declaration form obtained by Radio Etoil A Karamoja, Fred Angella came second with 1,529 votes, constituting 41 percent.
Esther Angella Pulukol Lochomin, garnered 49 votes representing one percent while Rose Mary Nate Locuku, managed to poll only 09 votes, which accounted for 0.2 percent.
Michael Wilson Lokawa emerged a winner for Tepeth County flag bearer, with 4,973 votes, representing 49.9 percent the total vote cast.
Albert Lokoru recorded 4630 votes (46.5%), John Lokwang garnered 337 votes representing 3.3 percent while Emmanuel Chero secured only 14 votes representing 0.1 percent.
In Pian County, Nabilatuk district, Remigio Achia, the incumbent Member of Parliament emerged victorious, after trouncing five rivals.
Achia polled 11,358 votes against 8,190 votes garnered by his closest rival Emma Lokubal. This means that Achia beat Lokubal with a margin of 3,168 votes.
Sylvia Vicky Awas, finished third with 7,470 votes, Jimmy James Lomer, secured 5,858 votes, Ann Risa Akol Maniman, 2,236 votes while Paul Lokol garnered the least number of votes 1,001.
