Fredrick Alaba is stranded in Kotido after he was rejected by the family that he has been searching for, for years.
The 27- year- old from Hoima City found himself in a mix after his desperate attempts to find and reunite with his paternal family in Karenga failed.
But upon arrival to Kapedo Town Council in Karenga District, his father’s home area, Alaba was left in tears after discovering that his father, John Lomuria, a UPDF soldier died several years back.
His attempts to join the family members left behind by his father were met with resistance, forcing Alaba to seek help from well- wishers for food and shelter as he looks for money to return to Hoima.
When Etoil A Karamoja met him, Alaba was moving to different offices with the letter from Kapedo Town Council, seeking financial support to return to Hoima.
He told our reporter that his late mother, Doreen Asiimwe who passed on in 2020 had informed him about his family in Kapedo.
He revealed that he was forced to look for his paternal family when his uncles from the maternal side chased him away.
Alaba’s parents reportedly met in Bombo Army Barracks when they were both serving as soldiers in the UPDF.

Alaba traced his father’s whereabouts using the army number that he was reportedly given by the mother before her demise.
