The Head Teacher of Lotuke Seed Secondary School, in Abim District, Jackson Bushendich, was on Monday arrested over allegations of having a sexual relationship with his student and impregnating her.
Mr. Bushendich, was arrested on the orders of the Abim Assistant Resident District Commissioner-RDC, Jaspher Okoo, after reports of his alleged sexual relationship with the student reached his office.
He, reportedly impregnated a senior five girl, who is said to be 7 months pregnant.
According to some students who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprimand, the head teacher had earlier on claimed that the girl is his relative.
Speaking to Etoil A Karamoja, on Tuesday, Okoo, said the head teacher was picked up by police on Monday together with the Senior Woman Teacher, Margaret Akidi to help with the investigations.
There is however, little information readily available about Mr. Bushendich, who has been head teacher at Lotuke Seed School for the past three years.
His administration has reportedly been familiar to a string of accusations including allegations of sexual harassment against the girl students, failure to renew the Board of Governors-BOG, Primary Teachers Association-PTA and the School Management Committees, allegations, Etiol A Karamoja has not independently verified.
Superintendent of Police Peter Akampulira, the Abim district police commander, when contacted said the head teacher was given a police bond shortly after recording a statement at Abim Central Police Station-CPS. He however, declined to provide more details when probed further.
