Karamoja Province is determined to overturn 2-1 defeat against Bugisu Province in the first leg of the FUFA Drum Preliminary Qualifiers.

They will face off with Bugisu Province over the weekend in the highly anticipated return leg to be played at Moroto Boma Grounds.

Speaking to Etoil A Karamoja in an interview, Karamoja Province head coach Ali Obonyo said he is impressed with the progress of the team’s preparations ahead of the coming fixture.

With a few day to the thrilling encounter, Obonyo noted that the players are doing well in improving their fitness levels, technical skills and endurance.

Out of the 24 player players that were summoned, three have been sent back for late reporting.

The training camp according to Obonyo, is a crucial part of the team’s preparation for the return leg, adding that they focusing on building a strong foundation, both physically and mentally.

“We want to make sure our players are in top condition and ready to take on Bugisu province who have a goal advantage over us”, added Obonyo.

He explained that the training camp, which is being held at the Moroto Boma Grounds and Moroto Prison’s pitch, features a combination of strength and conditioning exercises, as well as tactical drills and scrimmages.

The team’s preparations are being closely watched by fans and pundits alike, who are eager to see how the team will perform in the return leg of the FUFA Drum preliminary qualifiers

With a strong squad and a solid game plan, the Karamoja Province is looking to overturn their 2:1 defeat against Bugisu Province in the first leg game played at Mbale City Stadium.

Reacting to fixture, Obonyo called for sound preparations, saying Bugisu Province are now a force to be reckoned with. 

“They are now to reckon with in football. Because they have tactically and technically sound players; hence, the need for us to prepare in a way that will make us victorious in this game,” he said.
