Kaabong-The joint security forces have arrested 134 suspected Karimojong rustlers in Kaabong district, in a fresh operation launched over the weekend, as part of the ongoing cordon and search operations in the region.
On Friday last week Brigadier Joseph Balikudembe the 3rd division commander while giving an update on the current security situation in a radio talk show at Etoil A Karamoja warned the criminal elements in Kaabong against carrying on with their criminal activities.
Balikudembe warned that the forces would carry out a serious operation to weed out the suspected criminals who have been terrorizing residents of Kotido.

The operation that was launched in Lotulakapel village, Kamacharikol parish, Kathile south sub-county, saw one warrior killed and a gun recovered.
The 45 infantry commander Col Gaston Mugarura says the security forces broke through armed cattle cells and had gun exchange with warriors. He notes that out of the 134 suspects arrested, 25 prime suspects were identified upon screening.
Mugarura says they will continue to pursue criminal elements and prosecute prime suspects to enhance security and total return of normalcy in Kaabong district.
Since the launch of the cordon and search operations, in May this year, the joint security forces have so far recovered 397 illegal guns and 3,970 rounds of ammunitions.
