Five people are nursing serious injuring at Kotido general hospital after they were reportedly attacked by unknown armed assailants on Sunday night.
The incident happened at Narubela village, Longaroe Sub County Kotido district. The victims have been identified as Longok Apaluku, Jesimina Lotyang Awaka, Peter Pader, Lonyia Lochiyo and Peter Butong Apadakae all residents of Narubela village.
Some of the victims were reportedly shot at with live ammunition while others were dragged out of their houses and beaten.
Jesimina Natyang one of the victims nursing gunshot wounds says the armed assailants she suspects to be Karimojong rustlers from Kaabong district fired bullets at them after the man they were chasing entered her shop.
She further claimed that the armed men made away with 460,000 and other items worth hundreds of shillings.
Lonyia Lochiyo a businessman who also sustained a bullet injury on his right thigh says the armed men also robbed off his 700,000shs.
Moses Lomuria Apalobara the LC3 chairperson Longaroe sub county told our reporter that he has written several letters to the office of the Resident District Commissioner, DISO Kotido asking for security to be deployed at his area but is yet to get a response.
